Seven Sons Tree
The Seven Sons Tree (Heptacodium miconioides) is a deciduous tree native to China. It is known for its attractive features and unique blooming pattern. In late summer to early fall, the tree produces fragrant clusters of small white flowers that are highly attractive to pollinators. Following the flowers, red calyces persist on the tree, adding additional visual interest. The Seven Sons Tree has a multi-stemmed growth habit and can reach a mature height of about 15 to 20 feet with a spread of 10 to 15 feet. The leaves are dark green and serrated, providing an appealing backdrop for the flowers. This tree is relatively low-maintenance and adapts well to a variety of soil types.
