Pygmy Ruby Barberry
Pygmy Ruby Barberry (Berberis thunbergii 'Pygruzam') is a compact, deciduous shrub with a dense, mounding habit and striking deep burgundy-red foliage that holds its color all season long. In the fall, the leaves turn a brilliant shade of red-orange, adding to the plant's overall appeal. This barberry variety is low-maintenance and easy to grow, making it an excellent choice for borders, mass plantings, or as a colorful accent plant in mixed containers. It is also deer-resistant and tolerant of drought and urban pollution. Pygmy Ruby barberry grows up to 2-3 feet in height and width and prefers full sun to partial shade.
